Querubin weakens into LPA; rains to continue

Tropical Depression Querubin has weakened into a low-pressure area (LPA), but the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) yesterday said that rains will persist amid its interaction with other weather systems, particularly the shear line and northeast monsoon.
"Tropical Depression Querubin has weakened into a low-pressure area and has a medium chance of redevelopment into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours," the state weather bureau announced. At a press conference, PAGASA deputy administrator for research and development Marcelino Villafuerte II said the LPA and the shear line will cause heavy to intense rains in some areas.
