QC releases DPWH flood projects list

The Quezon City government has released a list of 331 Department of Public Works and Highways flood control projects that the DPWH implemented in the city since 2022, including ongoing initiatives that were not in the Sumbong sa Pangulo website.

The public disclosure of the projects' details was part of the earlier commitment made by Mayor Joy Belmonte, who submitted the city government's findings to the Independent Commission for Infrastructure formed by President Marcos.
Belmonte told the ICI that the projects received a total allocation of over P17 billion.
Only two obtained the required certificate of coordination from city hall, with 305 flagged as not aligned with the city’s master plan.
According to the city government's findings, many of the projects were not in the original proposed budget of the DPWH, which indicate possible congressional insertions during budget deliberations.
Based on the list, the city’s District 4 received the highest allocation for flood control projects from 2022 to 2025, amounting to P5.7 billion.
