PNP ready to support reward for Zaldy’s arrest

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said it is prepared to support a possible government-issued reward for anyone who can provide information that can lead to the arrest of fugitive former lawmaker Zaldy Co, who is wanted for corruption and malversation charges.

Acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said they are coordinating closely with the Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Office of the President to facilitate the arrest of Co.

Nartatez said that while the PNP has yet to make a formal recommendation on a reward scheme, he stressed it remains focused on locating and arresting Co “through all legal means available.”

He said offering a reward “increases potential informants, especially in communities where police visibility is low.”
