NexGen Energy allots $2.5 B for wind projects

NexGen Energy Corp. is setting aside roughly $2.5 billion (around P146.5 billion) to develop three onshore wind projects across the country.
This comes after NexGen subsidiary Airstream Renewables Corp. secured three wind service contracts totaling 1.7 gigawatts in Pangasinan, Samar and Nueva Ecija from the Department of Energy.
The Pangasinan and Samar projects have a potential capacity of 600 megawatts each, while the planned Nueva Ecija facility could unlock 500 MW of wind resources.
NexGen president Eric Roxas said securing the contracts marks a major step forward in the company’s growth plans and further strengthens its development pipeline.
