In celebration of Metrobank's 63rd Anniversary, Metrobank Foundation Inc. (MBFI), the corporate social responsibility arm of the Metrobank Group and GT Foundation Inc. (GTFI), the Ty family foundation, last week formally turned over P45 million in development assistance to 30 partner organizations.

The grants were awarded at the annual George S.K. Ty grants turnover last Friday, Sept. 5 at the Grand Hyatt Manila in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

This year's theme, "Bridging Generations, Growing with Purpose," highlighted how the two foundations nurture a legacy that prioritizes not just immediate relief, but long-term, sustainable impact.

By supporting programs that address health care, education, livelihood, disaster risk reduction and special interventions, MBFI and GTFI continue to embody the vision of their founder, the late Dr. George S.K. Ty in uplifting individuals and forging partnerships that place at the forefront service to communities.

MBFI and GTFI's advocacy also aligns with Metrobank's broader vision of building bridges to the next generation under its campaign "Let's Grow Together."

The campaign reaffirms Metrobank's commitment to create pathways for shared growth and long-term social impact.

In his welcome remarks, MBFI president Philip Francisco Dy reflected on the legacy of Dr. Ty, who once said: "The more successful the corporation, the greater is its responsibility to the community." This guiding belief has defined our work for decades now, reminding us that genuine growth is not measured by wealth alone, but by how deeply we uplift others and strengthen society.

True growth is only achieved when it is shared with others.

The P45 million worth of assistance will support initiatives that expand health care access, strengthen quality education for formal and technical-vocational education, promote food and livelihood security and enhance disaster preparedness.

By working closely with community-based partners, MBFI and GTFI amplify collective action and create inclusive opportunities for growth.
