Mercedes-Benz Philippines launches its third plugin hybrid offering in the form of the new GLE 400 e with EQ Hybrid Technology.

- By ULYSSES ANG

The GLE joins the GLC and E-Class in the local lineup as a new number of the three-pointed star's electrified vehicle offering.

Priced at P 5,790,000, the midsize premium GLE 400 e packs a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a 9-speed automatic. Mated with a powerful electric motor, it delivers 252 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Impressively, it delivers more than 100 kilometers of EV range, and can be charged at up to 11 kW (AC charging). Once the battery's depleted, it can continue to more than 900 kilometers, equating to freedom for longer journeys.

The GLE 400 e's 4Matic all-wheel-drive system ensures confident traction across diverse road conditions, while the Dynamic Select drive programs allow for tailored driving experiences—from efficiency-focused electric cruising to performance-oriented dynamics for the open road.
