Marcos set to sign 2024 budget - Zubiri

President Marcos is set to sign on Tuesday the proposed P5.768-trillion national budget for 2024, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri said.
Zubiri yesterday said the executive branch already sent an invitation for the President’s ceremonial signing of the 2024 national budget that would strengthen local production through modernization, mechanization and improved logistics, defend sovereignty and ensure Filipinos’ safety against anyone who threatens violence.
“Good news, an invitation has been sent for Tuesday next week,” Zubiri said in Filipino in an interview with dzBB.
“Tam very proud that 2023 is a banner year for the Senate. A multitude of quality measures has been passed. Despite perceptions of the Senate being slow, our work continues without interruption; there is no malfunction,” he added.
