Manila Water unit expands sewer network in Boracay

A unit of Razon-led Manila Water Co. Inc. has installed new sewer lines on Boracay Island to enhance wastewater treatment capacity in one of the world's top beach destinations.

Manila Water, through Boracay Water, expanded sewer network coverage in the Balabag area - which includes the island's busy Stations 1 and 2 - as well as portions of Yapak.

The initiative, implemented under the Yapak Bypass Project, aims to meet the growing wastewater management needs in these areas.

With the expansion, sewer coverage on the island increased to 67 percent from 61 percent, allowing a greater volume of wastewater to be properly disposed and treated.
