Man Waiting in Line for Ayuda Dies

A recipient of the Emergency Cash Transfer died while waiting to receive his ayuda from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium on Saturday.
MALOLOS – A recipient of the Emergency Cash Transfer died while waiting to receive his ayuda from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium on Saturday.
The PSWDO identified the victim as Walfredo Ople Catajan Jr., a resident of Barangay Sto. Niño, Hagonoy town.
Medical responders reported that Catajan felt body discomfort around 10:40 a.m. while waiting in the priority lane.
He was then rushed to the nearby Bulacan Medical Center (BMC) where medical personnel immediately applied cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
The medical team also applied suction, intubation, ECG and other vital diagnostics, but was not able to revive Catajan. He was pronounced dead by 11:05 a.m.
According to Dr. Cris Carlo Pedrosa of the BMC internal medicine department, the cause of death was due to acute coronary syndrome.
