Driving sustainable mobility
The Philippine Star
|August 03, 2025
The social and humanitarian arm of Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMP) is marking its 35th-year milestone through the launch of its new advocacy focused on leveraging mobility, along with an initiative with the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) to improve access to health care.
Driving social progress and sustainability through initiatives across four pillars education, health, environment and community for 35 years, the TMP Foundation aims to do more through its new advocacy pillar: Mobility+.
"In synergy with the other pillars, it will be instrumental in creating a bigger impact through the mobility of people, mobility of things, mobility of information and mobility of free and creative ideas for many Filipinos," TMP and TMP Foundation chairman Alfred Ty said during TMP Foundation's 35th-anniversary celebration.
In line with the new advocacy pillar, the TMP Foundation is teaming up with the Toyota Mobility Foundation and PGH for the Healthcare Mobility for All, or HEAL Project, which aims to improve the mobility and accessibility of health care services for both patients and health care workers in the country.
The Philippines was selected by the Toyota Mobility Foundation as the pilot site for the HEAL Project, as many patients especially in underserved areas have to endure long journeys to reach health care providers.
Healthcare professionals, particularly those on early or late shifts, also face challenging commutes to serve patients.
"In the Philippines, we recognize that mobility can enhance the availability of transportation for health care professionals, and also improve health care accessibility for the Philippine public," Toyota Mobility Foundation Program general manager Nanako Kumamoto said.
The project, which will run from July 2025 to December 2026, will introduce two mobility solutions: a mobile clinic and a shuttle service.
