DHSUD orders moratorium on housing amortization

As the country reels from recent calamities, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development ordered its shelter agencies to provide a moratorium on the payment of housing amortization, the DHSUD announced.
Among the agencies directed by DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling to “immediately” impose a moratorium on housing amortization were the Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-IBIG Fund, National Housing Authority, Social Housing Finance Corporation and National Home Mortgage Finance Corp.
