DepEd to Use Pampanga Flood-Resilient Building as Model

Amid the continuous threat of climate change and flooding in low-lying areas, the Department of Education (DepEd) will use a flood-resilient school building in Masantol, Pampanga as a model for school buildings in some flood-prone areas of the country.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara announced this during the inauguration of Masantol High School, which remained flooded for weeks due to the impact of tropical cyclones Crising, Dante, and Emong and the southwest monsoon in Luzon.
