BOI Retains P1.75-T Target for Investment Approvals in 2025

The Board of Investments (BOI) is holding on to its P1.75-trillion investments approval target for the year despite the United States' imposition of reciprocal tariffs, as the government aims to hold more investment missions.
"We'll stick to that," Trade Secretary and BOI chair Cristina Roque told reporters yesterday when asked if the agency is keeping its investment approvals target for the year.
If the goal is realized, the BOI's approved investments would be reaching the highest level ever this year.
Last year, investments approved by the BOI hit an all-time high of P1.62 trillion.
Based on data from the Philippine Statistics Authority, BOI-approved investments plunged by 60 percent to P382 billion from P955.24 billion in the same period last year.
