Four more people have been rescued after Yemen's Houthi rebels sank a cargo ship in the Red Sea, bringing the total to 10, a European naval force said yesterday.

3 More Filipino Seafarers From Houthi-Hit Vessel Rescued

Three Filipino crew and a Greek member of the Eternity C ship's on-board security team were "recovered from the sea — bringing the total number of those rescued to 10," Operation Aspides posted on X.

A total of 25 people were aboard the Liberian-flagged bulk carrier, according to Aspides, the European Union's naval task force patrolling the Red Sea.

On Tuesday, Aspides told AFP that three people were killed and at least two wounded, including a Russian electrician who lost a leg, in the Houthi attack.

The fate of the others who were on board remains unclear. On Wednesday, the Houthis said they had "rescued" an unspecified number of people from the ship.

The Iran-backed Houthis also released a video showing a large explosion on the deck of the ship, which later sank.

In Manila, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said yesterday that eight of the Filipino seafarers have been rescued without any physical injury or illness.

He also gave assurance that the rescued Filipino seafarers will soon be repatriated.
