The Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit on Saturday demanded a public apology from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the alleged misbehavior by the state administration towards Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati during the Magh Mela holy bath, terming the incident as an example of “arrogance of power”.

Addressing a joint protest near the Jammu Press Club, Shiv Sena (UBT) state chief Manish Sahni said the alleged incident had hurt the sentiments of the entire Sanatan Dharma community. He asserted that the Shankaracharya is not an individual figure but a spiritual authority representing crores of Sanatan Dharma followers.
