LG Kavinder reviews functioning of NHPC Nimoo Bazgo Power Project

Leh, Jan 22: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Kavinder Gupta on Thursday reviewed the functioning and operational status of the NHPC Nimoo Bazgo Power Project at Alchi, stressing its vital role in ensuring reliable power supply and energy security in the region.
The LG, accompanied by First Lady Bindu Gupta, was briefed by Sanjay Kumar Rai, General Manager (Mechanical), NHPC Ltd, on peak power generation, seasonal variations, and electricity distribution through substations across Ladakh. At the Control and Command Centre, officials explained the real-time monitoring system of the Indus and Zanskar rivers and the spillway gate mechanism ensuring safe operations even during extreme winters.
