India's retaliation redefines counter-terror strategy

The massacre of tourists at Pahalgam by the Pak, sponsored terrorists was at a different plane as the heinous crime was committed by asking about the religion of the tourists.

The incident sent shock waves down the spine of the nation and the whole nation wanted revenge against the terrorists as well as their handlers. The Government decided to destroy the terrorist training centres leaving their political masters and handlers unscathed and unharmed. This was because the Indian Government wanted to keep the action confined to the punishment of terrorists and the decimation of their training camps and hideouts so that it would not escalate into a full-fledged war.

India was cautious because America wanted to check the speedy growth of India. Uncle Sam does not want to repeat the same mistake they made while supporting China to counter the USSR. America will allow the growth of India only after it becomes a US ally though it wants India to take on China.
