Sengottaiyan acted as DMK's 'B' team, never spoke against it: Palaniswami

A day after senior AIADMK leader K A Sengottaiyan was removed from all party posts, including its primary membership, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Saturday said the decision followed six months of continuous anti-party activities by the former minister.

Addressing reporters at the AIADMK office in Salem's Krishna Nagar, Palaniswami said Sengottaiyan's conduct clearly showed that he was acting as "DMK's 'B' team".
"It was during the Athikadavu-Avinashi Project episode that Sengottaiyan's anti-party activities first became evident.
Nearly 85% of the project works, launched by former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, were completed under the AIADMK, while the DMK government delayed the rest. When farmers organised a thanksgiving function for the project's completion, Sengottaiyan walked out saying Amma's picture was not displayed," Palaniswami said.
