Parties warned over remarks on women

CHIEF Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar condemned derogatory remarks made against women leaders during campaigning for the Maharashtra Assembly polls due November 20.

The chief Electoral office of Maharashtra has urged officials to take action if such remarks are made by candidates.
Kumar's remarks came in the wake of some comments by political leaders in the state. Arvind Sawant, an MP of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, allegedly referred to Shaina NC, a Shinde-led Sena leader, as "imported maal."
