NHRC takes up electrocution of EB workers case suo motu

THE National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken suo motu cognisance of the electrocution of two Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) workers while repairing power lines on Olaiyur Ring Road in KK Nagar, Tiruchy, on December 18.

The commission issued notices to the chief secretary and the director general of police, seeking a detailed report within two weeks. The report is expected to include the status of the FIR, compensation provided to the victims' families, and measures taken to address the issue.
