Many from Delhi-NCR killed as tempo falls into Alaknanda

A vehicle carrying 26 tourists from Gurugram in Haryana to Tungnath-Chopta in Uttarakhand fell into a deep gorge near Raintoli close to Rudraprayag headquarters on the Badrinath highway on Saturday morning, killing 14 passengers, many of them from Delhi-NCR.
Ten others, some of them with serious injuries, are undergoing treatment at AIIMS Rishikesh.
Sources in the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF said the bodies of the deceased and the injured were taken out by the rescue team personnel. Five seriously injured tourists were airlifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rishikesh, out of which two succumbed.
