CAUGHT in a BJP fusillade during its six-day stir in Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday sought to clarify her "if Bengal burns" remark, saying she could sense a malicious disinformation campaign unleashed against her in the media in the aftermath of a doctor's rape and murder 20 days ago.
Mamata said PM Modi was using his party to "cause fire in Bengal" over the rape and murder of the trainee doctor, while warning him that "if you burn Bengal, other states including Assam, North-East, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Delhi too shall burn.
