MahaYuti sops: No toll for light vehicles, school buses at Mumbai entry points

AHEAD of the Maharashtra Assembly polls, a cabinet meeting headed Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday decided to waive road tax (toll) for light vehicles on all five access check nakas in Mumbai from October 14 night.
The decision will cost the state exchequer about Rs 5,000 crore as the cost of foreclosure for the agreement inked with the five toll firms by Maharashtra State Road Development Co-operation (MSRDC).
