In a 1st, no Maoist violence in peaceful J'khand 2nd phase

For the first time since the formation of Jharkhand 24 years ago, Assembly polls in Jharkhand were conducted without any incident of Maoist violence.
The second phase of polling concluded peacefully for 38 Assembly seats in the state on Wednesday with overall voter turnout at 68%.
The first phase of polling on November 13 also saw peaceful voting for 43 Assembly constituencies with a 64.86% turnout.
Of the 38 seats where polling was conducted, the BJP contested 32 and ally AJSU 6 from the NDA side.
The ruling JMM contested 20 seats, Congress 12, RJD 2 and CPI (M-L) 4 seats from the INDIA bloc.
