Ahead of ICC board meeting on CT, SL-A series in Pak postponed midway

THE timing could not have gone worse for the Pakistan Cricket Board. Only a few days before an important ICC board virtual meeting slated on November 29 to finalise the schedule of the Champions Trophy, the decision of the Sri Lanka A team to fly back home midway of the series due to political protests in Islamabad can further jeopardise Pakistan's chance of hosting the tournament.
Champions Trophy was awarded to the reigning champions in 2021 by the ICC. However, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) a few weeks ago told the world governing body that the Men in Blue will not travel to Pakistan. India had not travelled to Pakistan since the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
