After HC order, TN top cop taken into custody in Tiruvallur kidnapping case

TAMIL NADU Additional Director General of Police H M Jayaram IPS, presently serving as ADG Armed Police in Chennai, was taken into custody on Monday, on the direction of the Madras High Court in the case of the abduction of a 16-year-old boy, being investigated by Tiruvallur district police.
The senior officer's name was included in the FIR after investigations showed that his official car was allegedly used by the accused for the crime.
While issuing the directions in open court, Justice P Velmurugan said that Jayaram was a public servant and should understand the consequences of aiding a crime.
