Temple festival in STR a success amid strict vigil

THE three-day Arulmigu Aadhi Karuvannarayar temple festival, which concluded on March 13, inside the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve's (STR) core area went off smoothly, drawing thousands of devotees under tight supervision.
Forest and police officials had enforced the Madras High Court guidelines, capping vehicle entries at 100 per day with pre-registration at the Karachikorai check-post in Erode. Rules banned dumping of garbage, using the Moyar River for drinking or cooking, and burning firewood.
However, challenges persisted, with some devotees bypassing the restrictions.
