Fishers Want Community's Public Assets to be Included in CRZ Draft

The Tamil Fishermen Viduthalai Vengaigal and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) have urged the Puducherry government to revise the Coastal Regulatory Zone (CRZ) draft plan to include all public properties of fishing communities during a handbook release event at Puducherry Tamil Sangam on Friday.
Speaking at the event, Tamil Fishermen's Liberation Front founder-president I Mangaiyarselvan said the coastal areas used by fishermen—such as boat parking zones, fish and net drying spaces, residential areas, temples, schools, hospitals, crematoriums, and village roads—should be properly recorded in the CRZ draft plan.
