YSRCP leader beats up SC youth in Tirupati, booked

AN assault on a Scheduled Caste (SC) youth in Tirupati has triggered a major political row, with allegations directed at followers of former MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy.
YSRCP supporter Anil Reddy has been booked for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting the youth, Pawan, leading to a fierce exchange between the TDP and YSRCP on Thursday.
Police have registered a case against Anil Reddy under charges of kidnapping, attempted murder, and provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
The incident has intensified political tensions in the city.
The other two accused, Jagadish Reddy and Dinesh Royal, are at large, while Anil Reddy was being questioned.
The police are also in search of Pawan, who was missing after the incident.
