Telangana Grapples With Over ₹26,050 Crore Revenue Deficit

TELANGANA is grappling with a massive revenue deficit, falling far short of estimates. By the end of January in the 2024-25 financial year, the State reported a revenue deficit of ₹26,050 crore (minus) -8,758.83% higher than the budgeted revenue surplus of ₹297.42 crore. Similarly, the fiscal deficit stood at ₹58,586.64 crore, exceeding the estimated ₹49,255.4 crore.
