Mining lease periods extended significantly; lease premium reduced; OTS scheme to address legacy penalties
THE Cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, has approved the Andhra Pradesh Minor Mineral Policy 2025, aimed at reviving the mining sector, and easing burden on micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Mining, which contributed 3.53% to the State GDP in 2018-19, had declined to 2.71% in 2023-24. The new policy is expected to reverse this trend, and restore growth, employment, and investor confidence in the sector.
