THE female tiger that mauled a rubber tapper to death at Kalikavu in Malappuram district has finally been captured, bringing an end to a tense three-week-long search operation by forest officials.

The animal, believed to be around 13 years old, was trapped in a cage set up by the Forest Department at Sulthana Estate, and is suspected to have entered it on Saturday night. Migrant workers spotted the caged big cat on Sunday morning and alerted the authorities.
