'First Sitaram Yechury Memorial Lecture at JNU'
MARXIST economist Professor Prabhat Patnaik on Friday said that campuses are considered a "nursery of thoughts", so the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) remains on the target of the government.
"Campuses are where thought flourishes and if the property of fascism or neo-fascism is destruction of thought, then a destruction of the campus life is something which is absolutely essential for its survival; which is why JNU is the target...Why should a government of the country be so concerned about a particular university...because this university represents a challenge to them," said Patnaik.
