Jharkhand police on Sunday resorted to light force and tear gas shells to disperse the farmers protesting against the construction of Ranjendra Institute of Medical Sciences-2 (RIMS-2) on agricultural land, wearing masks of 'Dishom Guru' Shibu Soren.

Despite heavy police deployment, the protesting farmers, most of them tribal men and women, wearing the mask of Shibu Soren, reached the proposed site of RIMS-2 through the footpaths of the fields and ensured ploughing and planted saplings as per the pre-determined 'Hal Joto-Ropa Ropo' programme.
