|May 07, 2025
INDIA is preparing a $4 billion (₹33,744 cr) investment plan to connect all the villages in the country with high-speed broadband, said Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday.
The initiative is part of the government's broader goal to achieve 100% internet connectivity in remote regions. Scindia, speaking at the two-day Bharat Telecom 2025 event, organised by the Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC) and the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), said India aims to become a global leader in 6G technology. He also noted that within only 22 months, 99% of villages have been connected to 5G.
