Unauthorised trekking group intercepted

FOREST officials successfully intercepted an illegal trekking group attempting to camp overnight in the Talakona forest area, part of the Sri Venkateswara National Park, Wildlife Sanctuary, and Reserved Forest in Annamayya district.
District Forest Officer (DFO) R Jagannath Singh confirmed the apprehension of nine individuals, including two women, on the night of May 10. The group was attempting to set up an unauthorised campsite and engage in illegal activities, including cooking and consuming alcohol in the protected area.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Jagannath Singh explained that the operation followed a tip-off.
