Legacy waste: NMC opts for biomining

Significant step taken by Nellore Municipal Corporation for processing of waste is yielding good results.
Biomining is aimed at addressing the city's long-standing waste problem at the dumping yards. A total of 3,24,479 tonnes of legacy waste was identified at the Allipuram and Donthali dumping yards, of which 1,68,430 tonnes - roughly 50 percent - has already been processed through biomining carried out by M/s Jigma Nobel Global Environ Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
