UNDER the impact of a low-pressure system, cloudy weather has persisted across Andhra Pradesh, with Rayalaseema witnessing continuous heavy rains.
Kurnool, Nandyal, Allagadda, Atmakur, Dhone, Mahanandi and other areas are experiencing torrential downpours, flooding low-lying areas and disrupting vehicular movement due to waterlogging.
Inflow from Jurala, Sunkesula and Handri-Neeva projects has increased sharply, prompting authorities to lift two more gates of the Srisailam Dam, which is now releasing water to Nagarjunasagar through a total of six gates.
