Authorities Fix Protest Sites At Tirunelveli

In a consultation meeting with representatives of political parties and organisations, officers of the district administration and police department discussed the selection of designated locations for conducting public gatherings, protests and demonstrations in accordance with the high court guidelines.
The meeting was chaired by District Collector Dr K P Karthikeyan, in the presence of Superintendent of Police N Silambarasan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Tirunelveli City) Geetha, Sub-Collector Arpit Jain, and other officials.
It focused on avoiding unauthorised locations for events, restricting the use of posters on public utilities, and fostering harmony among various communities.
Representatives were urged to ensure peaceful public activities and submit their suggestions for additional locations by January 13.
