Scammers Demand Blood Money From Oncologist

In a letter sent by post, a group calling itself "Citizens for Justice," purportedly based in Mumbai, has threatened oncologist V. P. Gangadharan with dire consequences if its demand of ₹8.25 lakh in 'blood money' is not met.
After Dr. Gangadharan lodged a complaint in that regard, the Kochi City police have sought the assistance of the cyber cell and the postal department to trace the persons behind the extortion letter.
According to Maradu police, which registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter, the letter accused Dr. Gangadharan of medical negligence that allegedly led to the death of a young girl, followed by her mother's suicide.
