Amid border talks with China, no cut in LAC security deployment

In a renewed diplomatic push to resolve the long-standing border standoff and build mutual trust, Chinese Foreign Minister and Politburo member Wang Yi will arrive in India on Monday for a two-day visit.

He will participate in the 24th round of the India-China Special Representatives (SR) talks on the boundary issue at the invitation of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

Wang Yi will hold formal discussions with NSA Doval, who serves as India's Special Representative for the talks. He will also meet with External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar and is scheduled to call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a move seen as signaling the importance both sides place on high-level engagement.
