No Light Yet At End Of Srisailam Tunnel

WHILE rescuers race against time to save the eight workers trapped inside the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel, operations have been in full swing through Saturday night and are continuing—the situation has been billed as "critical" with the fate of the victims unknown.
On Sunday, personnel from the Army, NDRF, SDRF and Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) travelled 13 km into the tunnel and are believed to have reached within a few metres of the accident spot. However, the huge volume of debris from the caved-in tunnel and water that seeped in hindered rescue operations.
