Farmers say that the price fixed by the government is unscientific
Though the Union government has fixed Rs 2,445 price per quintal of ginger to procure under Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) to support farmers who are facing price fluctuations in the market and to prevent farmers from selling their produce at distress price, the ginger growers in the district are not happy with the price. They said that the price fixed by the government is unscientific, which does not even get back expenses spent on the crop.
