AFTER three decades, Mumbai's special court on Tuesday ordered the transfer to the Centre of 14 properties of Tiger Memon, the mastermind of the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts.

- EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE @ Mumbai

The properties are located across Mumbai and have been under the custody of the Bombay High Court's receiver since 1994 following an earlier court order. They are a mix of residential and commercial premises and open plots.

Special Judge VD Kedar passed the order in response to a plea by the competent authority, SAFEMA/NDPS, which sought the release of these properties under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act, commonly known as the SAFEM (FOP) Act.
