MAHE to commence hospice, respite care centre

TO help terminally ill patients and their family members get compassionate holistic palliative care, MAHE has plans to open a 100-bed 'Manipal Hospice and Respite Care Centre' (MHRC) on its 12-acre green campus in Havanje, situated 4.5 km from Manipal.
The care centre will operate with support from Kasturba Medical College, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal and Indian Association of Palliative Care. Initially 35 beds will be provided for service and it will be scaled up in two more phases, with another 35 beds in the second phase and with 30 more beds in the third phase.
