Idol Makers Give Finishing Touches as S'Moga Gears Up for Ganesha Festival

Clay idols ranging from small to medium sizes are priced between Rs 300 and Rs 1,200
WITH the Ganesha festival just a fortnight away, idol makers in Shivamogga are giving the final touches to clay idols, while youth committees are busy selecting their preferred designs. Clay idols range from small household sizes to medium idols priced between 300 and 1,200. "We use clay and natural colours that are non-toxic. These eco-friendly idols do not harm water bodies during immersion. However, rising costs of clay, colours and other raw materials have forced us to raise prices," said several artists.
