Enough water bodies for wildlife in forests this summer: DCF

THE water bodies in forest areas in the district have adequate drinking water for wild animals and can be managed for the present summer season.

With various permanent sources of water, the Sahyadri forest range in the district need not worry about water for wildlife, as per official sources.

Prasanna K Patagar, DCF (Wildlife) told The New Indian Express that as of now there is no shortage of water for wild animals in forests and there is sufficient water in major water bodies in the district.

The Sahyadri forest ranges in the district come across major water bodies namely Puradal dam, Gajanur dam and Sharavathi backwaters which are permanent sources of water for wildlife. They have sufficient water most of the time.
