Basava philosophy inspired the launch of social sector programmes, says chief minister
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday said opposition parties, which made a hue and cry over the five guarantee schemes saying the government would go bankrupt, have now started copying the guarantee schemes in poll-bound states.
He said his government effectively implemented the guarantees and also focused on the overall development of the state, giving priority to irrigation, public works and rural development. Speaking at the Suttur Jathra festival after felicitating the winners of science exhibition and yoga competitions, he said the state's fiscal position is strong and healthy, disproving the opposition's apprehension.
