Farmers Allege Rampant Corruption

THE public hearing by the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) turned into a grievances meeting with representatives from farmers' organisations exposing corruption and harassment from the CESC officials.
They accused the CESC of playing to the gallery of the politicians and touts in setting up of transformers. Paramesh, a farmer, said the government has assured to repair or replace the defunct transformer within 72 hours whereas in reality it takes 15 to 20 days for the job.
