AMID the debate over change in leadership in the state and demand for Dalit chief minister, senior politician and former Union Minister C M Ibrahim on Friday reignited the Dalit chief minister issue and said leaders from both SC right and left communities must get a shot at the top job. He also had a suggestion for the ruling party. There should be an agreement that All India Congress Committee president Mallikarjun Kharge and Food and Civil Supplies Minister K H Muniyappa who represent SC right and left respectively, must get one year term each.
Speaking at a seminar on the life and politics of veteran leader Y Ramakrishna, Ibrahim hinted at a possible change in the state's leadership. "The time has come for change in guard. Let one year be Kharge's term, and one year Muniyappa."
